Jan Goemann

Jan GoemannJan Goemann was born in 1930. At the time when the trains came in, he lived with his family in Weener and was still a student. He remembers that it concerned to be freight trains containing of cattle cars with an passenger carriage attached at the end in which the SS guards sat. He also saw the deportees from the trains. They were shaved and wore a yellow Star of David that bordered the word “Jew”. He remembers that the trains have always stopped in Weener and one of the Jews was allowed to get out of the wagon to fetch water for the others.
