Reint Straat

Reint Straat

Reint StraatReint Straat (1925) lived during the May Days 1940 in Tynaarlo and has probably seen one of the last transports from Westerbork. Because, on his own admission, at that time actually no trains drove anymore. He also collected postcards that were thrown out of the hatches and took them home. He hid the postcards from his parents and brought them to the mailbox the next day. Sometimes just a few words were written on them. Sometimes a few longer sentences in which the people out of the trains said farewell to their families.
